GreenerBusiness 2.02: Multitouch Table

Tagged:

Multitouch input has been spreading throughout a huge variety of devices, from phones to all-in-one PCs. However, most multitouch displays that can function with your computer tend to be fairly expensive, so with this project we're going to make our own display, that can run on any operating system, and reuses some used/now useless materials.

GreenerBusiness 08: Portable Solar Powered USB Charger with an LED Flashlight

Tagged:

This week we're making a portable solar powered USB charger with an LED flashlight. This episode shows how to modify a $10.00 solar path light into an Altoids tin that can then be used as a flashlight or fully charge your iPod, cell phone, or other USB device.

With this project the thing that makes it really useful is that you can leave the device in the sun, without anything hooked upped to it, then bring it anywhere with you to charge your USB devices, because it's hooked up to the four AAs not the USB port directly.

From a couple of tests, we found that when the AAs were completely charge the device gave over a full charge to an 2nd gen. iPod nano.
